Research indicates the persistent under representation of women in aviation, aeronautical science, and aerospace engineering fields. This research presents an effort in increasing the enrollment and involvement of women in these areas using an interdisciplinary approach.
Project Details
This research has two major objectives:
- To determine major factors that affect women's decision in studying, engaging in research, and pursuing careers in aviation, aeronautical science, and aerospace engineering using existing data sets
- To develop and test an interdisciplinary intervention aimed at increasing women enrollment and involvement in these areas. A large scaled survey and interviews will be conducted to test this model and make strategic recommendations for academic institutions.
