Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) scholarships are awarded competitively based on academic achievement, physical fitness, leadership potential and field of study. Two-, three- and four-year options are available depending on your branch. All contracted cadets — scholarship and non-scholarship — receive a monthly stipend throughout their enrollment.
Embry-Riddle also provides institutional aid that works alongside your ROTC award. Combined, these resources are designed to make your education as affordable as possible while you train to commission.

ROTC Scholarship Information
How does an ROTC scholarship impact other types of financial aid?
If you are an ROTC scholarship recipient, we want to provide you with some essential information regarding your enrollment and how your financial aid may be impacted.
Adjustments may occur to previously offered financial aid. Aid may be reduced or canceled according to the aid program criteria.
If you are living on campus, your housing budget may be increased. View estimated costs for the Prescott Campus.
Institutional Funded Scholarships (IFS):
- ROTC scholarships, when combined with IFS, federal and state aid, and external scholarships, may not exceed the cost of attendance (or student budget).
- ROTC scholarships and IFS may not be used for flight costs.
- IFS will be reinstated if your ROTC scholarship is canceled.
Each student's situation is unique, and adjustments vary due to differences in degree programs, grade level, awarded IFS, financial need, annual and lifetime limits on aid programs, and other factors.
Daytona Beach students:
- In-state students awarded Florida EASE will have their ROTC scholarship adjusted down.
- Florida EASE and Florida Bright Futures Scholarship eligible students can receive all four years of funding, provided they meet renewal requirements each year.
If you have questions about financial aid adjustments, please contact the Financial Aid Department at your campus.
What costs do ROTC scholarships not cover?
ROTC scholarships will not cover the following expenses:
- Flight costs
- Health insurance coverage for all branches except Army ROTC
- Increased costs for a higher meal plan.
You must pay any charges not covered by ROTC and financial aid, or enroll in the Embry‑Riddle , by the Fee Payment Deadline each term.
Notification of ROTC Scholarships to Embry-Riddle Departments
Your ROTC detachment will notify Student Financial Services and the Financial Aid Office of the value of your scholarship.
If you have questions about how your scholarship has been applied to your account, contact your campus Financial Aid office directly.
