From your first inquiry to your first day on campus, our International teams provide personalized guidance on applications, visas, scholarships and arrival logistics. If you need additional English language preparation, the Embry-Riddle Language Institute (ERLI) offers an intensive program with cultural orientation at the Daytona Beach and Prescott campuses — including a Pathway Program that lets eligible students earn Embry-Riddle credit hours while developing their language skills.
This page covers international-specific requirements, document needs and visa information so you can begin your journey to an Embry-Riddle degree. Learn more about degree-specific and general admissions requirements by visiting our program-level admissions pages.
At our Daytona Beach, Prescott and Worldwide & Online campuses, international students are those who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. At our Asia Campus in Singapore, international students are non-Singaporean citizens or non-permanent residents.
Requirements for International Students
In addition to degree-specific and general admissions requirements for undergraduate and graduate students, all international applicants must also meet the admissions requirements outlined below. These requirements apply across campuses unless otherwise noted. Some campuses or programs may also have additional considerations, and each application is reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis. You’ll find campus-specific details within each tab.
Educational systems differ country by country. All undergraduate and graduate applicants who have post-secondary educational experience from a non-U.S. institution are required to provide an official course-by-course evaluation in English — including the cumulative grade point average and U.S. degree equivalency — unless specifically exempted through a qualifying Embry-Riddle program.
High school applicants may be required to have a document-by-document evaluation. Applicants with university credit will be required to have a course-by-course evaluation. The same transfer credit policies apply to students who have educational experience outside the United States.
A copy of the foreign transcript must accompany the official credit evaluation. The evaluation must be certified by one of the Foreign Credential Evaluation Services (FCE) approved by Embry-Riddle. A fee is charged for the translation service and must be paid by the applicant directly to the FCE. The report is considered official only if mailed or electronically transmitted directly from the issuing agency to Embry-Riddle.
Admissions also reserves the right to accept foreign credential evaluations from current members of the , or .
Foreign Credential Evaluation Agencies
The following services are versed in providing a comparison of a country’s education system to the system in the United States. This comparison includes education levels, credits, and grades. We accept evaluations from the following agencies:
(International Education Evaluation)
(Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, Inc)
(Educational Credential Evaluators)
(International Education Research Foundation)
(The Evaluation Company)
Admission criteria may vary by program. Be sure to check out our for full requirements. Technical programs, in particular, may require supplemental documentation or other specific qualifications.

Getting Here: Visas and Immigration
Embry-Riddle is authorized to enroll international students under several visa categories depending on the campus.
Embry-Riddle is approved by the U.S. government to enroll international students and host exchange visitors. The University sponsors eligible students as F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors at approved locations, and maintains required records in the (SEVIS) or SOLAR+ systems.
Find additional details for each campus in the individual tabs.
Visa Types
F-1 Student Visa
Daytona Beach, Prescott and Worldwide & Online campuses accept the F-1 student visa. F-1 students must maintain full-time enrollment, keep immigration records current through the SEVIS, and follow federal regulations on employment and travel.
J-1 Exchange Visitor
Available at Daytona Beach and Prescott campuses for eligible exchange students and visiting scholars through designated programs. Form DS-2019 is issued by alternate responsible officers (AROs) and records are maintained in SEVIS.
Singapore Student Pass
Students admitted to the Asia Campus (Singapore) do not need a U.S. visa. Instead, international students apply for a Student Pass through the using the SOLAR+ system.
Transfer Students
Transfer students should seek the assistance of the international student advisor at their current university to assist them with the transfer procedures. Upon receiving their admission letter, transfer students should contact their current school’s International Student Service Office and request that their SEVIS record be released to Embry-Riddle at the end of their last semester at their current school. This will allow our admissions office to issue a new I-20, provided that proof of funding has been submitted to Embry-Riddle.
