Our flagship Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science has a proven track record of preparing students for exciting careers in commercial airlines, corporate aviation, government agencies and the military. At Embry-Riddle, you’ll gain more than just flight hours. Our Aeronautical Science degree combines world-class flight training with strong academics, giving you the competitive edge employers look for today. You’ll sharpen your mathematics, physics and communication skills while building a strong foundation in aeronautical science concepts. Also, during your time with us, you'll earn a Private Pilot Certificate (Airplane, Single-Engine Land) and an Instrument Rating. Before graduation, you'll earn a Commercial Pilot Certificate (Airplane Single and Multi-engine Land, with an Instrument Rating) and you can electively earn a Flight Instructor Certificate.

The B.S. in Aeronautical Science is a flight-track degree — you earn your FAA multi-engine, instrument and commercial ratings alongside your four-year technical degree, graduating prepared for a career on the flight deck. The B.S. in Aeronautics is a non-flight degree designed for students who want advanced aeronautical knowledge applied to modern aviation challenges without the flight training component. Both are rigorous, career-ready programs.
No prior flight experience is required to apply to the B.S. in Aeronautical Science. Students begin flight training as part of the curriculum from early in the program.
Graduates pursue careers as commercial airline pilots, corporate pilots, military aviators, flight instructors and aviation operations managers. With a 95% employment rate within one year of graduation, Embry-Riddle graduates are among the most sought-after candidates in the field.

The Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate is an undergraduate certificate that can be pursued as a standalone credential. Students in other aviation degree programs may also be able to complete it with additional coursework. Contact an academic advisor for details.
