Whether your interests are in engineering, aviation sciences, cybersecurity or beyond, the program connects you with faculty experts, real projects and national competitions. Complete the requirements and earn a Research Scholar Notation on your official academic transcript — a credential that sets you apart for graduate school, internships and employers alike.
Earning Recognition: The Research Scholarship Transcript Notation
Completing the Undergraduate Research Scholars Program earns a Research Scholar Notation on your official Embry‑Riddle transcript. That notation documents your commitment to scholarship and signals to graduate programs, employers and industry partners that you have done real research — not just studied it.

Academic Requirements
Complete each requirement below to earn your Research Scholar Transcript Notation. The program accepts research experience across all approved Embry-Riddle campus offices.Involvement in two or more terms of research under faculty or staff mentor supervision — or through a program approved by the Office of Undergraduate Research, Daytona Beach (OUR-DB); the Undergraduate Research Institute, Prescott (URI-PC); the Research Scholars Program, Worldwide (RSP-WW); or Pathways to Student Success (PATHWAYS-WW).
Share your research through a combination of three or more presentations and publications, including at least one institutional presentation. Qualifying formats include conference presentations, journal submissions, poster sessions and published reports.
Complete workshops, training or coursework related to research practice. Approved topics include research methods, data analysis, research ethics, presentation preparation and peer review processes. Your campus program office can confirm approved training options.
Obtain a minimum of one endorsement from your research mentor. The endorsement must detail the research project, the project period, your specific role and the outcomes achieved. Your campus program director can provide the endorsement form.
Write a personal reflection describing how your research experience shaped your professional development and how these experiences will influence your immediate and long-term goals. This reflection becomes part of your program portfolio.
