Scholarships for Embry-Riddle Students
Wessel Service-to-Scholar Scholarship
The Wessel Service-to-Scholar Scholarship in the amount of $1,500 is available exclusively to student veterans enrolled at the Daytona Beach, Florida, campus of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ, who have registered for study in a foreign country during either Summer Term A or Summer Term B.
Awarding of this scholarship is decided by a committee of Embry-Riddle faculty and is based upon academic merit and scholarly promise as determined by the application essay and by the information provided by the applicant.

The Bob and Barbara McCord Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The Bob and Barbara McCord Memorial Endowed Scholarship benefits Worldwide Campus students with financial need. Preference is given to veterans or active-duty military applicants.

Nationwide Scholarships
Dozens of national organizations offer scholarships for active-duty service members, veterans, Reservists, military spouses and their dependents. Application windows and eligibility requirements vary by program.STEM and Foreign Language Scholarships
AFCEA STEM Majors scholarships are available to eligible applicants pursuing STEM degrees that align with the mission of the AFCEA. Only undergraduate students enrolled in a four-year institution with sophomore or junior status are eligible to apply.
Application Window: Jan. 1-May 1, 2026
A merit-based, $2,500 scholarship for active-duty or honorably discharged U.S. veterans, including Reservists and National Guardsmen who deployed overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, Operation Inherent Resolve or Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. Applicants must also have reached sophomore or junior status and be enrolled in a four-year institution pursuing a STEM degree.

The Boren Awards promote long-term linguistic and cultural immersion by providing financial support for U.S. undergraduate students (Boren Scholarships) and graduate students (Boren Fellowships) to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Air Force Scholarships
The AFAS awards $5,000 Merit and Grit scholarships to dependent children and spouses of active duty or retired Airmen who demonstrate outstanding academic potential based on GPA. The AFAS sponsors multiple scholarship opportunities that can be viewed on their website.

Colonel Aaron Burgstein Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is made possible by a bequest from Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Judith Burgstein in memory of their devoted son and Air Force Association (AFA) Lifetime Member, Colonel Aaron Burgstein.
Captain Jodi Callahan Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is in memory of Captain Jodi Callahan, an AFA Under-Forty National Director and a Trustee of the former Aerospace Education Foundation. This scholarship is made possible through her family and friends' contributions to the Jodi Callahan Memorial Fund.

Army Scholarships
AER annually awards scholarships to spouses pursuing an undergraduate degree for the first time, covering up to four academic years of full-time study or eight academic years of part-time study. AER also awards scholarships to children who meet eligibility requirements for up to four academic years of full-time study.
Application Window: Jan. 1-April 30
RTX and Student Veterans of America will select two student veterans with a demonstrated passion for their field of study to receive $10,000 scholarships.
Application Window: March 31-May 1, 2026
Federal and Government Programs
The U.S. Department of Education provides information for the funding of education for military personnel, veterans and their families.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research, study and teaching opportunities in over 140 countries to recent graduates and graduate students.
Application Window: April-October
Marine Corps and Navy Scholarships
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides children of Marines with scholarship opportunities to help pay for higher education. All scholarships can be viewed at the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Website.
Application Window: Year-round for career/technical education scholarships and Jan. 1-March 1 for undergraduate/associate scholarships.
The NMCRS Education Assistance Program helps eligible Navy and Marin Corps families by providing needs-based scholarships and interest-free loans.
Application Window: Feb. 16-April 17, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PST
Scholarships for Military Families, Spouses and Dependents
FHHE offers scholarships for eligible dependents and spouses of disabled or fallen U.S. service members.
The Freedom Alliance Scholarship is for eligible children of U.S. service members who intend to pursue a four-year undergraduate degree.
Application Window: Ongoing
The Heroes' Legacy Scholarship program honors not only those who have fallen in battle but all who have died or have become disabled through their active military service since September 11, 2001. The program is open to their dependent unmarried children under age 23.
Application Window: Mid-December
The mission of this scholarship program is to help prepare military spouses for meaningful employment and to better contribute to their family’s financial security. Scholarships are awarded to spouses of members of all Uniformed Services.
Application Window: No deadline. Applicants can apply anytime.
The Patriot Legacy Fund awards need-based scholarships to qualifying dependent students. Multiple scholarship opportunities are available on the Patriot Legacy Fund website for students who meet the criteria.
Application Window: March 1-April 15
The Scholarships for Military Children Program was created in recognition of the contributions of military families to the readiness of the fighting force and to celebrate the role of the commissary in the military family community.
Application Window: Mid-December
Wings Over America provides one-time and renewable scholarships to honor the service of Navy aviation families.
Application Window: Oct.1-March 1
Eligibility: Dependent children and spouses of enlisted or officer Naval Aviation personnel qualify for this scholarship. Further eligibility will be determined by Wings Over America during a pre-qualification screening. All applicants must complete pre-qualification by Feb. 1, at 5 p.m. EST.

Scholarships Through Student Veteran Organizations
The National Association of Veterans Program Administrators (NAVPA) is a member organization consisting of colleagues and peers involved in VA programs across the country. The NAVPA actively monitors and provides input to lawmakers and the VA on matters related to veterans' educational benefits and training in relation to institutes of higher learning.
Open scholarships from SVA’s partner organizations provide veterans with funds that do’t interfere with the G.I. Bill or other financial aid.

Comcast’s NBCUnviersal-SVA Scholarship of $12,000 is given to each of two student veterans in any major with an interest in the entertainment industry.
Application Window: February-April
The Council of Military Educators (CCME) offer $1,000 scholarships each year to United States service members (active duty/veterans), spouses and children of service members working towards completing higher education degrees.

Scholarships Through Veteran and Honor Organizations
The American Legion Legacy scholarship is a need-based scholarship to assist students in fulfilling financial gaps after using all available state and federal financial aid. Undergraduate or graduate students who are children of disabled or deceased post-9/11 U.S. service members are eligible to apply.
Application Window: March
AMVETS annually awards scholarships to deserving high school seniors, J/ROTC students, veterans and service members pursuing a higher education. Scholarships are also offered at many of the AMVETS’ Posts and Departments.

Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) is proud to offer funds to PVA members and their immediate family members through an Educational Scholarship Program.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars' Sport Clips Help a Hero Scholarship provides financial assistance to active service members and veterans.
Application Window:
- Fall semester: Jan. 1-April 30
- Spring semester: Aug. 1-Nov. 15
The VFW's Student Veteran Support Grant offers much-needed assistance to support specific student veteran events. Grants of up to $500 (maximum of two per fiscal year) will be disbursed to a VFW Post or Department that supports student veterans at the university or college.
Tillman Scholarships cover all annual academic expenses, including tuition, books and living expenses, and are eligible to full-time spouses, active duty or veteran students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
