Flight Training Costs and Payment Guidelines

Your tuition payments do not cover flight costs. You pay after each flight activity and may pay online using the Education and Training Administration (ETA) system.
A full description of the minimum flight costs, including fuel, aircraft and instructor rates, is outlined in Estimated Costs.
Embry-Riddle flight training costs can be difficult to quantify for each student. There are many variables, and no two students will have the same flight training experience. You should discuss options with your flight training team to maximize your training to reduce your overall cost (i.e., being prepared before each flight activity, utilizing flight training devices/simulators, etc.).
Flight students are required to review the Flight Operations Manual annually, which outlines the No-Show Policy and fee structure.

Before any flight loan can be disbursed each year, you must submit the (added to your To-Do List on ERNIE when a flight loan is certified).
Aid is disbursed after the 100% Fee Refund Deadline each semester (approximately the second week of classes).
To protect funds borrowed for flight, you must deposit funds into your Flight Account. Your Flight Account is a prepaid deposit account used only for flight expenses. Flight Dollars are not transferable, and no cash withdrawals are permitted.

Remember that Private Student Loans can take up to 30 days to process. Parent PLUS Loans take 3-5 business days to process.
If flight funds are used for any purpose other than on-campus flight courses, Embry-Riddle will not authorize more flight funding.
Flight courses taken off-campus may not be funded by the flight loans processed through Embry-Riddle.
If your flight funds are almost depleted and you have not completed the course, please let the Financial Aid Office know. We will verify that your loan funds were used appropriately and can then determine the additional amount you can borrow.
Before processing a drop, withdrawal or cancellation of a flight course, contact your financial aid counselor to see if there will be any financial impact on your account. If enrollment changes due to a dropped flight course, awards may be reduced or canceled.
