Once you’ve been admitted to the Aeronautical Science major at Embry‑Riddle, it’s time to take action! In addition to to prepare for arrival, flight students must complete the tasks listed below. Flight blocks cannot be assigned to students who are not in compliance, and your flight block must be assigned before you can register for academic courses.
You will be required to complete the Flight Student Information Questionnaire that will provide us with details we need before we can assign your flight block, so complete and submit it to us when requested to avoid delay.
Prior to Arriving on Campus

- Select the "To-Do List"
- Complete the Flight Student Information Questionnaire
FAA Class 1 or 2 Medical Certification
- Review the guide for
- Gather three years of medical history
- Create a
- Locate an
- Schedule an FAA Class 1 or 2 appointment with a local AME
- Ensure that your full legal name is on your medical certificate
- If your medical certification is deferred, refer to the New Flight Student Guidebook
Proof of Citizenship — U.S. Citizen
- Review the on citizen documentation requirement
- Ensure that your full legal name is on your government ID
- Ensure that your name matches on all citizenship documentation
Obtaining TSA Clearance — International Students Only
- Review the
- Gather a valid government ID
- Open the
- Select "Register Options/Candidate Portal"
- Complete all steps indicated in the candidate portal
- Check your Embry-Riddle email for TSA instructions
FAA Pilot Certificates and Ratings
If you hold any FAA certificate, upload it using the .Upload Current Self Portrait for EagleCard
- Locate a passport-quality self-portrait (electronic)

- Plan to visit the FD&C Office (refer to orientation schedule)
- Gather FAA and identification documents
- Visit the FD&C Office
- Show original to FD&C Agent:
- Government-issued ID
- Birth certificate or passport
- FAA medical certificate
- FAA pilot certificate(s) (if applicable)
