Welcome Back, Graduate Students
Your graduate journey doesn't end because life got in the way. Whether you stepped away for a semester or several years, Embry-Riddle has a clear path to bring you back.Readmission Process
Graduate students at Embry-Riddle are expected to maintain continuous enrollment throughout their program. If your enrollment has been interrupted — whether by choice, academic circumstances or life events — you'll need to apply for readmission before you can resume coursework.
The specific triggers for readmission and the process itself vary by campus. Review the details for your campus below.
Daytona Beach and Prescott Campuses
At Daytona Beach and Prescott, readmission is required whenever a graduate student's attendance has been interrupted.
This applies regardless of the reason:
- Voluntary withdrawal
- Leave of absence that has expired
- Failure to register for consecutive terms
Continuous enrollment policy: Refer to the Continuous Enrollment section of the for details on how enrollment gaps are defined for residential graduate programs. Your program coordinator can confirm whether your specific absence triggers a readmission requirement.
How to apply: Contact the Graduate Admissions office at your campus to initiate the readmission process. You'll need to provide transcripts from any coursework taken at other institutions during your time away.
Worldwide & Online, Asia and Europe Campuses
At Worldwide, Asia and Europe campuses, readmission is required in any of the following situations:
- You enrolled at another institution: If you took coursework at another college or university during your absence, you must apply for readmission and provide official transcripts from that institution.
- You failed to enroll within one year: Admitted students who do not enroll in courses within one year of their admission date must reapply.
- You failed to matriculate within one year: Students who were admitted but never officially matriculated (began taking courses) within one year must reapply.
- You were academically dismissed: Students who were dismissed for academic reasons must petition for readmission.
- You did not complete your degree within seven years: Graduate students must complete all degree requirements within seven years of their first enrollment. If you've exceeded this window, readmission and a revised program plan are required.
