Off-Campus Resources
The Daytona Beach Vet Center provides readjustment counseling services for wartime veterans as well as a number of other services to assist the transition into civilian life. They also hold a number of workshops to help veterans manage any service-related issues, such as PTSD. Team RWB (Red, White, and Blue) is an organization comprised of veterans that do a number of physical and social activities to connect with the local community. Many chapters exist nationwide, including one right here in Daytona Beach. Visit the for more details on how to join.
DiveTherapy is a local organization founded by ERAU Student “Cory” James Maxwell. As a Marine Corps Veteran and PADI scuba instructor, James is dedicated to supporting his fellow veterans the best way he knows how: through scuba diving. Scuba diving has many benefits for veterans who suffer from PTSD, anxiety, depression and other issues, and it's a great way to enjoy the local marine environment as well. DiveTherapy also provides instruction to obtain a free scuba diving certification, which normally costs about $500, to veterans so they can safely continue enjoying the benefits of scuba diving throughout their lives.
Life on Campus in Daytona Beach
The Daytona Beach Campus offers everything you'd expect from a full residential university — plus the energy of Florida's Space Coast. Between classes, you'll find no shortage of ways to recharge, compete and connect.
Nestled in the Prescott National Forest in north-central Arizona, the Prescott Campus offers a close-knit academic environment where military students stand out — and find their footing. With a smaller campus community and a strong culture of hands-on learning, Prescott is a place where your background as a service member carries real weight.
Veterans and military-affiliated students are a meaningful part of campus life at Prescott. You'll connect with fellow Eagles who share your discipline, your work ethic and your commitment to excellence — in and out of the classroom.
Student Life in Prescott
Prescott's compact, residential campus makes it easy to build real relationships and stay connected. The surrounding mountains, trails and open landscapes offer a natural backdrop for veterans who value time outdoors. On campus, you'll find a pace that rewards focus — and a community that shows up for each other.
Veteran Student Services helped me tremendously in my transition to civilian life. In addition to being a great resource to veterans like myself, VSS also gave me the opportunity to become a part of the student support staff. Being a VA work-study helped me financially and gave me a quiet place to work and study."
