The Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics (BSA) delivers rigorous, industry-relevant curriculum designed to uphold the highest standards of performance, quality, integrity, flight training and flight ratings across aviation fields such as operations, safety, maintenance, air traffic control and flight.Whether you already have aviation-related knowledge and skills or are new to the field, this program builds on your experience or helps you develop aviation-specific knowledge through focused coursework, preparing you to succeed in a dynamic industry.
Program Details
The Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics is offered at the Daytona Beach Campus, the Prescott Campus, the Worldwide & Online Campus and the ERAU Asia Institute at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ.
Across our campuses, you’ll study core aviation principles and apply them in aviation-centered learning environments supported by experienced faculty and industry resources.
Housed in the Department of Aeronautical Science in the Daytona Beach Campus College of Aviation, this degree teaches skills in aviation safety, communication, contemporary problem solving, international regulations and law, aviation operations and more.
Directly adjacent to an international airport, aeronautics students on the Daytona Beach Campus are surrounded by aviation — gaining skills, knowledge and experience within their on-campus environment and beyond. Coursework is shaped by your selected Area of Concentration (AOC), leading to greater opportunities to pursue your own interests and goals.
To complete the Area of Concentration, students may select courses in Aeronautical Science, Air Traffic Management, Applied Meteorology (aviation-related), Aviation Maintenance Science, Commercial Space Operations, Flight, Geosciences, Homeland Security and Intelligence, Safety (aviation-related), Simulation, Space Studies or Uncrewed Aircraft Systems. A flight minor is approved for the Restricted Airline Transport Pilot certificate program. (Note: The flight program at the Daytona Beach Campus is currently at maximum capacity. At this time, flight training on campus is only available to students in the Aeronautical Science major.) The FAA-approved ATP-CTP course is available to Aeronautics students.

The Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics is a multidisciplinary online program that combines your previous professional experiences — or your interests and passion for aviation — with courses in human factors, security, aviation safety, occupational safety and health, air traffic control, aircraft maintenance and aeronautical science. Whether you are building on industry experience or exploring a new direction in aerospace, this program is designed to meet you where you are and help you move forward with confidence.
At the Worldwide & Online Campus, you can structure your education around your lifestyle and take classes where and when you want. Students can earn more than a quarter of the required semester hours from prior learning experiences, such as military training and FAA licenses and certificates, and receive their bachelor’s degree in as few as three years.
Note: Graduates from the Worldwide & Online Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics program are not eligible to apply for a restricted privileges airline transport pilot (ATP) certificate.
