An Unparalleled Air Traffic Control Education
The Bachelor of Science in Air Traffic Management at Embry-Riddle prepares graduates for a thrilling career in air traffic control. One of just a small number of universities granted Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) designation as a Collegiate Training Initiative School, Embry-Riddle’s air traffic control program is taught by passionate, knowledgeable professors who have held positions as air traffic controllers themselves. In addition to Air Traffic Management courses, the program provides exposure to procedures and operations consistent with those found in FAA air traffic control facilities. You’ll gain hands-on experience using advanced simulation technology that mirrors real-world tower and radar environments. The air traffic controller degree equips you with the essential knowledge and foundation required to enter the industry, and Embry-Riddle graduates consistently meet and exceed FAA demands and standards. Embry-Riddle is also the only institution that provides an international air traffic management study abroad program.
Program Details
The Bachelor of Science in Air Traffic Management is offered at the Daytona Beach, Florida, campus and the Prescott, Arizona, campus of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ.
You’ll learn air traffic procedures, safety protocols and communication skills in aviation-focused environments supported by experienced faculty and industry-aligned training resources.
The Bachelor of Science in Air Traffic Management is housed in the Department of Applied Aviation Sciences in the College of Aviation. As one of the first universities to participate in the FAA’s Enhanced Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) program, graduates of Embry-Riddle’s B.S. in Air Traffic Management can directly enter in FAA facilities for controller training, provided they pass the Air Traffic Skills Assessment (ATSA) exam and meet medical and security requirements.
Here, you’ll get real-world training in the largest interactive air traffic control lab in the U.S. Many of your courses will take place in the College of Aviation building, which features an abundance of simulation labs, a weather center and meteorology labs. Located adjacent to an international airport, our Daytona Beach Campus also maintains a modern fleet of aircraft and a host of advanced flight simulation devices with advanced visual systems.

The Bachelor of Science in Air Traffic Management is housed in the Department of Aeronautical Science in the College of Aviation. In this program on Embry-Riddle's Prescott Campus, you'll complete classes that incorporate computer-based simulation training in all areas of air traffic control, even uncrewed aircraft.
Embry‑Riddle is the first university in Arizona to receive approval for the (AT-CTI) program, offering the same thorough coursework and advanced training technology as the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. Graduates of Enhanced AT-CTI programs are placed directly in FAA facilities for localized training.
In addition to Air Traffic Management courses, the program is designed to provide exposure to procedures and operations consistent with those found in FAA air traffic control facilities. Our Prescott Campus also maintains a modern fleet of aircraft and a host of advanced flight simulation devices with advanced visual systems, which allow students to gain experience working with real-world tools and technology.
