Project Details
We are developing a methodology for studying the ways in which extreme environmental events and climatic anomalies can affect human security considerations such as food production, population dynamics, and resistance to natural hazards/disasters. We are trying to understand how these human security issues can influence or directly impact U.S. national and homeland security through problems associated with mass migration, resource-based conflict, and/or damage to critical infrastructure. We are also looking at strategies to translate environmental security concerns into policy recommendations for high-level decision-makers.
