I have enjoyed being a scholar and practitioner of leadership principles for 15 years as an educational and aviation industry professional. Highlights of my career include teaching complex math principles to at-risk students and serving as a high school principal in Oakland, California. Additionally, I have enjoyed leadership roles in the co-founding of a scholarship foundation, the Youth Coordinator for the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), the chapter president of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) employees organization, and as an on-the-job-training instructor for Lockheed Martin Corporation.
My research interests include learning with teamwork, aviation safety, aviation education and promoting STEM careers among at-risk youth. Moreover, I am a student pilot and Training Manager at Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC).
When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my two young children [Emile (11) and Ava (10)] and wife (Jackie); organizing aviation activities for kids in our community; and writing. I look forward to learning with each of you!
My strengths: Includer, Positivity, Self-Assurance, Arranger and Learner.
