Dr. Denney is an accomplished professor with over 40 years in industry and the military.ÌýShe specializes in project and engineering management. She effectively combines academic rigor with practical experience, focusing on risk management and ethics, to enhance the link between academia and industry. She has developed and taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses, driving curriculum innovation and student engagement. Her scholarly contributions include over 25 publications, including four books, as well as invited presentations, which have significantly impacted both academic and professional fields. Her leadership roles include serving as president of the International Center for Academic Integrity's Board of Directors and chair of the Ethics Insite Team at the Project Management Institute.Ìý
Dr. Denney has a Doctorate of Business Administration with a specialization in Management of Engineering and Technology from Northcentral University, a Master’s of Science in Technical Program Management from the Johns Hopkins University, Whiting School of Engineering and a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester. She received her Project Management Professional (PMP)® in 2003.
Dr. Denney’s research interests are in complex decision-making using qualitative methods.ÌýSpecific topics of interest include business ethics and success criteria, risk management (with a focus on opportunity management), stakeholder engagement and academic integrity.ÌýShe has a passion for sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm about project management.
Dr. Denney is a Navy veteran and was commissioned through the NROTC program.ÌýDr. Denney retired from Lockheed Martin after a demonstrated 30-year record of accomplishment, including winning executable business, planning to ensure program success, risk management and project execution with solid financial acumen.ÌýAs a 20-year project and program manager, she managed a wide variety of domains, including satellite development, ground control stations, surface ships, electronic warfare and unmanned underwater vehicles. She was responsible for a portfolio of over $500 million.ÌýÂ
Dr. Denney lives in upstate South Carolina with her husband of over 45 years and a few fur babies. She is the mother of 2 outstanding young adults.
