Matthew Mendenhall

Overview

Dr. Matt Mendenhall earned his Doctorate in Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary, as well as a Master of Divinity and a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Amridge University.

Dr. Mendenhall served 22 years in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot and an additional six years in the U.S. Air Force as a chaplain before retiring from active duty in 2022.

A Certified Flight Instructor for both helicopters and single-engine airplanes, Dr. Mendenhall also holds a commercial multi-engine pilot certificate and is a certified Remote Pilot. With more than 3,500 flight hours, his experience includes flying the AH-64A, OH-58C, BK-117, BO-105 and Russian Mi-17, as well as a variety of single- and multi-engine airplanes.

Professor Mendenhall is passionate about advancing pilot resiliency through programs emphasizing emotional intelligence and holistic aviation training.
