Mark Pellegrini

Overview

Mark Pellegrini is an Adjunct faculty member in the Department of Graduate Studies, College of Aeronautics at the Worldwide Campus. After serving for 10 years in the United States Marine Corps as an aviation technician working with communication/navigation equipment on fixed and rotary wing aircraft, he began a college education leading to a law degree and work as an attorney practicing in the field of intellectual property. About 13 years ago, he joined The Boeing Company (Mesa, AZ), where he manages law firms in the protection of Boeing's intellectual property rights in regard to domestic and foreign patent protection related to various aerospace and aviation technologies related to commercial and military platforms.

Graduate-level educator and aerospace industry professional with 20+ years of experience spanning aviation law, intellectual property, and unmanned systems. Adjunct faculty at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµÂ teaching courses in regulatory frameworks, sustainability, and autonomous systems. Brings real-world expertise from The Boeing Company into the classroom to prepare future aviation leaders.

Legal

  • Manage, coordinate, and advise domestic and foreign legal counsel in the preparation and prosecution of intellectual property with a focus on global patent portfolio.
  • Engage business unit partners and the inventive community in IP training and exploring diversity of programs/projects in a strategic approach to protecting innovation.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical policy, statutes, and regulations pertaining to IP including trademark, copyright, and patents as well as multi-national treaties and agreements.

Adjunct Faculty

  • Teach graduate-level courses in aviation law, sustainability, unmanned systems, and project management.
  • Deliver course objectives through effective communication skills including active listening, empathy, and understanding individual differences in course load, student diversity, and class management strategies.
  • Encourage critical thinking, independent analysis, collaborative problem-solving, and the ability to apply theory to complex real-world challenges in aviation and aerospace course content.
