Dr. Marc Compere is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ in Daytona Beach Florida. He earned the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering in 1994, 1996, and 2001. His background is physical systems modeling, instrumentation, dynamics, and multi-vehicle scenarios. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in vehicle dynamics, electric power systems, instrumentation, modeling and simulation, and sustainable design. He has published 50 refereed conference and journal articles, trained 36 Masters students, 4 Ph.D. students, and launched 3 small businesses. Dr. Compere released an Open Source Software (OSS) called the Mobility Virtual Environment (MoVE) in 2018 to help test multi-vehicle scenarios in both simulation and real, multi-vehicle flight tests. Dr. Compere's recent research and most recent patent focuses on sensorless wind estimation using unmodified, commercial-off-the-shelf drones.
