Kyle Wilkerson

Overview

Kyle Wilkerson serves as the program coordinator for the Air Traffic Management degree program at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµâ€™s Prescott Campus, a role he has held since 2020. His areas of expertise include air traffic control, uncrewed aircraft systems and flight operations.

Wilkerson holds a Private Pilot License with an Instrument Rating, as well as complex and tailwheel endorsements. He is also certified under FAA Part 107 and has earned AUVSI Trusted Operator Program (T.O.P.) Levels 1, 2, and 3 credentials. With extensive experience flying a wide range of aircraft, he brings practical knowledge and industry insight into his teaching and leadership.

He earned a Master’s degree in Uncrewed Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Air Traffic Management, with minors in Uncrewed Systems and Business Administration.

An active researcher, Wilkerson has contributed to numerous papers and conference presentations throughout the United States and Europe, including engagements in Florida, Washington, D.C., Tennessee and Switzerland. His research interests encompass best practices in air traffic and flight training, human factors in air traffic control, and cybersecurity for both air traffic control specialists and flight professionals.

Dedicated to student success, Wilkerson continually explores innovative teaching methods that make aviation education engaging, inclusive and impactful for learners from diverse backgrounds.
