Justin Stone

Overview

Justin Stone serves as a Quality Engineer at Draper in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and as an adjunct instructor at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ. He teaches courses including Aviation Maintenance Management: A Global Perspective, Introduction to Aeronautical Science, Operational Applications in Aeronautics and Principles of Accident Investigation.

In his role at Draper, Stone oversees the organization’s Quality Management System and Internal Quality Audit Program, ensuring that all products meet rigorous safety and reliability standards. He currently leads Draper’s initiative to achieve AS9100D certification, a globally recognized aerospace quality management standard.

Before joining Draper, Stone worked with USfalcon as a Logistics Subject Matter Expert and Department of Defense contractor. He also served a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Air Force, retiring in 2020. His military service included a decade as an F-15 aircraft maintainer, Phase Dock Chief and Support Section Chief, followed by a decade as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer supporting multiple platforms, including the F-16, RQ-4, CV-22, AC-130U/J, and MC-130H/J. His assignments took him across the globe, including posts in Florida, England, Texas, Italy and North Dakota.

Throughout his career, Stone has developed deep expertise in aviation maintenance, logistics, and operations across both military and civilian sectors. His leadership background includes managing large, cross-functional teams and advancing process improvement initiatives within high-reliability organizations.

Outside of work and teaching, Stone enjoys spending time with his family, working out, reading and exploring the outdoors.
