Overview

Dr. Joseph Sobieralski is an associate professor of Human Resource Management in the College of Business at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ.ÌýHe received his Ph.D. in Economics from Southern Illinois University, a Master’s in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B.A. in Mathematics from Southern Illinois University.ÌýHe holds a SHRM-CP certification and a People Analytics Specialty Credential from the Society for Human Resource Management.ÌýHe possesses an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with airplane single and multi-engine and instrument ratings.ÌýHe also holds a type rating in the Boeing 737.

Dr. Sobieralski’s research interests focus on labor, personnel and sustainability issues in the aviation and transportation industries.ÌýHe serves on the Editorial Board of Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives as an advisory board member.ÌýHis work has been published in Transport Policy,ÌýJournal of Cleaner Production,ÌýTransportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives,ÌýTransportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment,ÌýResearch in Transportation Business and Management,ÌýJournal of Air Transport Management,ÌýResearch in Transportation Economics,ÌýSustainability,ÌýThe Collegiate Aviation Review International,ÌýTransportation Research Part A: Policy and PracticeÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýJournal of Environmental Economics and Policy.Ìý

Prior to joining ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ, Dr. Sobieralski was an assistant professor of Aviation Management in the School of Aviation and Transportation at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.ÌýHe has also served as an executive board member for an AFT Local Union and as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.Ìý
