Dr. David Hopfe is the director of research development at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ, where he facilitates collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, supports strategic research initiatives and manages internal research seed funding programs. He also provides guidance on funding opportunities, research administration and proposal development to enhance submissions and awards. David serves as the vice president of the Florida Research Development Alliance (FL-RDA) and co-chair of its mentoring committee. Additionally, he is the co-chair of the National Organization for Research Development Professionals (NORDP) mentoring committee, where he supports the growth and development of research professionals nationwide.
Dr. Hopfe earned his Ph.D. in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle in 2023, with research focused on predictive analytics, big data and economic demand estimation. Recent studies investigated advanced forecasting and modeling techniques for airport passenger flow and air traffic demand, with a focus on time series analysis, neural network models and dynamic data-driven approaches. He has expertise in business intelligence, data analytics and data management and holds multiple professional certifications, including Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Penetration Testing Engineer (CPTE) and Certified Cyber Leader. Additionally, he holds a National Security Agency (NSA) Information Assurance (IA) certificate and a Microsoft certification, reflecting his multidisciplinary expertise in research and technology.
