David  Canales Garcia

Overview

David Canales Garcia started his professional career atÌýPolytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain, where he studied hisÌýBSc and MSc degrees in Aerospace Engineering. He also pursued aÌýMSc degree in Astrophysics, Particle Physics and CosmologyÌý´Ú°ù´Ç³¾ÌýUniversity of Barcelona. His most remarkable professional experience in the space industry was when he started working forÌýSatlantis LLCÌýas aÌýspace technology engineerÌýwith the aim of developing Earth-observation cameras for micro-satellites.Ìý He graduated from hisÌýPh.D. in Astrodynamics and Space ApplicationsÌýin the multi-body dynamics research group under the supervision ofÌýDr. Kathleen C. Howell in Purdue University.Ìý


Dr. Canales is currently an Assistant Professor in the department of Aerospace Engineering of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ (ERAU). He is also the ERAU representative to the Universities Space Research Association (USRA).Ìý


His expertise encompasses astrodynamics in multi-body regimes, Cislunar surveillance, astronomy, orbit determination, applied mathematics,Ìýas well asÌýmany different space applications, such as telecommunications, signal processing and mission planning.Ìý
