​Amani Francis, Ed.D., is a lifelong learner, educator, sustainable forest preservationist, and small business owner. Francis is a doctoral candidate in Baylor University’s EdD Learning and Organizational Change program and faculty in the Humanities and Communication department at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ. Francis’ current research focuses on mindfulness through the lens of self-determination theory for Black male college students. Francis’ additional research spans a wide range of concentrations to include nature-based mindfulness (NBM) for college students, NBM for marginalized populations, hidden Black indigeneity and cultural intersectionality, the Greek mythical elements of service and aversion in historical and contemporary Black literature, genealogical studies, and ancient autochthonous history.
